Hien: Hungary's Megastar

Updated: Jun 3, 2019

She is already a pop legend in Hungary; now she wants to charm the rest of the world with her pleasing harmonies, ethereal textures, and down-tempo electronic beats.

After successfully competing in the sixth season of Hungarian tv show Megasztár, Hien signed with Tom-Tom Records. Her celebrity has only grown since her first single “Túl szép”dropped in 2009 as it was a massive success and established her as one of Hungary’s leading pop stars.

Hien has been exposed to an interesting duality of cultural influences. On the one hand, this Budapest-born musician has a deep attachment to Hungarian folkloric melodies, but on the other, when playing the leading role of Kim in the musical “Miss Saigon,” she was able to draw on her Vietnamese roots.

Her multicultural background has allowed her to appeal to different language audiences as she signs in English and Hungarian. To date, she has released two pop albums, one in English and the other in Hungarian, a dozen singles, been featured on songs by other artists, and performed in numerous cities across Europe, Asia, and the US.

Hien has received an admirable number of honors, including Glamour’s Woman of the Year, the Viva Comet award, and a full-scholarship for studying sound design at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Like mountain climbers who have successfully summited a peak, Hien is looking for a higher pinnacle to scale. She has already reached the peak of her career in Hungary; now she wants to meet the challenge of charming the rest of the world.

Vivaio Records is thrilled to be part of Hien's journey and will digitally distribute and promote her music to new audiences, both in the US and Western Europe, as well as Vietnam and other Asian countries. Welcome Hien!
